Opera Gx Link

  • Opera GX organizes your downloads by file type and can intelligently suggest which recent files to attach to emails without your having to open up another menu. You can expand Opera GX’s powers.
  • Opera’s VPN can also be used in a private browsing window. Shield your browsing in public networks Surfing on free, public Wi-Fi in airports, cafes, and event venues is a treat, but it can also be a danger.

Opera GX lets gamers control their computer’s CPU and memory usage to make gaming and streaming smoother. It also features Twitch integration and numerous customization options.

Opera Gx Internet Browser

Hello,

Select your language.

Today, we would like to invite you to try something completely new. Opera GX is a specially tuned version of the Opera browser, with new and unique features and design meant for people who love to play computer games. Right now, we are opening the early access program (for Windows), which means that, starting today, you will be able to download and test the browser and shape it with us. We will be launching the final version later this year.

GX Control lets you control the CPU and RAM usage by the browser

The GX Control panel is a brand new feature which lets you define how much of your computer’s CPU or RAM you are willing to let the browser use. By toggling on the circle, you can choose to devote a certain percentage of the computer’s resources to the browser. Opera GX will stay within these limits. This means that, unlike other memory-hungry browsers, Opera GX puts you in full control of your gaming and browsing experiences.

We introduced this feature because running a game might require a lot of effort from your machine, even more so if you are streaming while you play. We found that many gamers often shut down their browsers in order to not slow down their gaming experience. Thanks to GX Control, games can run more smoothly without requiring you to compromise on what you do on the web.

Gaming ready with Twitch integration

Opera GX’s Twitch integration is another handy feature. The browser lets you log into your Twitch account directly from the sidebar and will notify you when a streamer you follow goes live.

The browser’s speed dial screen is also different from the one you know from our main browser – it features shortcuts to sites popular among gamers including Discord, YouTube and Reddit.

GX Corner for latest gaming news and deals

We also created the GX Corner, a place where gaming news from the web will be presented along with curated gaming deals and information about new and interesting releases.

Gaming design, sound effects and gaming hardware integration

When you first start or upgrade Opera GX you will be welcomed by sounds and an animation sequence inspired by gaming consoles. The sound effects and musical logo creation in GX are a result of Opera’s collaboration with the sound designer Rubén Rincón and the band Berlinist, who recently received a nomination in the BAFTA Games Awards for the original soundtrack to the Gris game. You will be able to adjust or switch off the sound effects, as well as most browser features in the settings panel.

Opera GX comes out of the box with a sleek gaming-inspired design with dark and red elements. You can also choose a different highlight color from 10 suggested colors or go deeper and choose from 16 million possibilities using the extended color picker feature. We designed it to feel at home on any gaming setup.

Opera GX comes with an exclusive set of wallpapers designed to match the browser and the large displays of gaming setups. It also includes Razer Chroma integration, which means that the keyboard, mouse and other Razer Chroma elements will adjust their colors to the chosen highlight colors in the browser.

Opera’s powerful features are there

Opera GX includes all the features present in the Opera desktop browser. This means that, apart from the Twitch integration, you can also use the Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook or Vkontakte messengers in the sidebar to stay in touch with friends without the need to open separate tabs.

Opera GX also retains the popular video pop out function which makes it easy to pop out a video from the website it is being streamed on and watch it on top of other websites.

Our built-in ad blocker will safeguard that websites load fast and distraction free while the free, no-log browser VPN will let you safely browse the web when using public WiFi.

We’ve summarized all the key features in an image:

Early access at Level 1 starts today

The early access to Opera GX for Windows starts today at Level 1, during E3 in Los Angeles. Instead of the usual versions, the browser’s development will progress in levels. The initial early access version is designed for those of you who love games. It also gives you the opportunity to shape the next versions, as our developers have added special feedback boxes throughout the browser, where particular features can be rated with one to five hearts. We would also like to encourage you to provide feedback and wish lists via the Opera GX forums.

Download Opera GX. A final version is planned for launch later this year.

On your computer (Opera 28 or later):

  1. Open Opera.

Am I safe when I sign in? How is my data stored?

You’re safe, and we don’t track you when you sign into your Opera account. The Opera servers only keep an anonymous token to identify you and sync your data. The servers save some information, including your bookmarks’ locations online, the location of the image you assigned to a bookmark, and some metadata about the bookmarked pages. We take your privacy and security very seriously. If you’d like more details, please review our Privacy Statement.

What data does Opera synchronize between my devices?

Opera synchronizes bookmarks, open tabs, Speed Dial shortcuts, and more from all of your devices. It merges bookmarks from each device you sign in with, remembers which tabs you have open on each device, and lets you access the Speed Dial start pages of your devices, anywhere. Opera for computers and Opera for Android users can sync passwords for websites between the two devices.

Opera

Below is a list of Opera browsers that sync data and the kind of syncing services they support. We’re working hard to bring more syncing services to all of your devices. Stay tuned and we’ll let you know what we’re up to.

Opera for computers: bookmarks, tabs, Speed Dial, settings, history, and passwords.

Opera for Android: bookmarks, tabs, Speed Dial, history, and passwords.

Opera Mini for Android: bookmarks, tabs, and Speed Dial.

OperaLink

Opera Mini for iOS: bookmarks and Speed Dial.

What about Opera Link?

Opera Gx Link

Unfortunately, Opera Link closed on December 2015. We supported Opera Link as long as we could, but now we’re focused on the updated set of sync services provided in the newest generation of Opera browsers. We encourage you to upgrade your Opera browser to the latest version. When you upgrade, you can use your Opera account username and password to sign in and start syncing.

How do I change my account details?

You only need a valid email address to set up an Opera account. But, as you become more active in the Opera community, you may wish to share more about yourself. You can add more details or change your account details – such as creating a username or sharing your real name, birthday, gender, and country. Navigate to your profile to review and edit your account details.

I want to clear all my synced data. How can I reset my account?

If you’ve forgotten your synchronization passphrase or just want a fresh start with the browsing data you share between your devices, you can easily reset your synced data.

To reset your account:

  1. Navigate to http://sync.opera.com/web/.
  2. Select the Reset sync data button.

Opera Gx Link Login

You will be signed out of all your devices and your synced data will be removed from Opera servers. Keep in mind that any data that has been synced to a device will remain on that device until you manually remove it.

How do I delete my account? What happens if I do?

You shouldn’t delete your account, because we’d hate to see you go. But, if you really want to, navigate to the account deletion page and click the big, red, scary Delete my account button.

If you decide to leave the Opera community, you will no longer be able to post or comment on the forums or add-ons library. Your synced data will be erased from our servers. Your username will be removed from anything you have posted on the community sites. If you posted as part of a group, the ownership of what you posted will be transferred to the group.

Can I reactivate my account?

Yes. If you delete your account, we’ll send you an email with a reactivation link. Look for it in your inbox and click the link. Then, everything will be restored. If you can’t find the email, you can request a new reactivation link.

We give you seven days to reactivate your account. After that, your Opera account will be removed.

Why can’t I create a new account with the same email address as I used for an account I deleted?

You can, but you have to be patient. Since we reserve a seven-day period for you to reactivate your old account, you’re unable to register a new one until we’re sure you don’t want to reactivate. We recommend waiting until the reactivation period is over. If you just can’t wait until then (because our community and services are that awesome), then you’re welcome to register a new account with a different email address.
