This page shows SpaceX Roadster (Starman) location and other relevant astronomical data in real time. The celestial coordinates, magnitude, distances and speed are updated in real time and are computed using high quality data sets provided by the JPL Horizons ephemeris service (see acknowledgements for details). The sky map shown below represents a rectangular portion of the sky 60x40 arcminutes wide. By comparison the diameter of the full Moon is about 30 arcmins, so the full horizontal extent of the map is approximately 2 full Moons wide. Depending on the device you are using, the map can be dragged horizondally or vertically using the mouse or touchscreen. The deep sky image in the background is provided by the Digitized Sky Survey (acknowledgements).
SpaceX Views of Starman! (LIVE Radio Atmospheric Chill music 24/7) On February 6th 3:45pm EST SpaceX launched their amazing Falcon Heavy rock. The mission was the test flight of the Falcon Heavy, intended to demonstrate the rocket's capabilities while gathering telemetry throughout the flight. The dummy payload for this test flight.

Starman Tesla Live Feed
- The Digitized Sky Survey, a photographic survey of the whole sky created using images from different telescopes, including the Oschin Schmidt Telescope on Palomar Mountain
- The Hipparcos Star Catalogue, containing more than 100.000 bright stars
- The PGC 2003 Catalogue, containing information about 1 million galaxies
- The GSC 2.3 Catalogue, containing information about more than 2 billion stars and galaxies
Elon Musk announced that the Falcon Heavy rocket will be carrying his personal Tesla Roadster into space. The rocket just completed its first successful launch and the purpose behind the unique cargo is revealed. SpaceX has posted a live feed from the car in space. A variety of cameras were fitted on the car with the dummy driver Starman and the views from different angles can be seen in the live feed.
Elon Musk has always been known to go the extra mile and he thought that the launch of the world’s most powerful rocket was not enough on its own and he needed to do something extra. We all appreciate his vision as we see the surreal footage from the cosmic car.
The success of the launch is a huge feat on its own. The launch is coupled with the two side boosters, that make up two-thirds of the first stage of the first stage, flew back to the launch pad to touch down at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base. The first stage core rocket also attempted to land on an unmanned seagoing barrage in the Atlantic but its success has still not been confirmed due to the loss of a data link.
SpaceX and its founder Elon Musk have taken to Twitter to reveal that the Tesla Roadster launched into space served a higher purpose and is equipped with a suite of cameras that are sending back images of the car from outer space. The car is rotating and some of the images capture the vast blackness of space while the sun comes into view in some images.
Some of the most powerful images are when the Tesla Roadster is viewed with Earth in the background which has not been seen directly by human eyes ever since the Apollo missions back in the 1960s and 70s. SpaceX is not giving any details and is letting the live stream video speak for itself.
The destination of the rocket is Mars and it is not known how long the spacecraft will be in range to maintain transmission power. So sit back and watch the feed while it is still transmitting. You can see it in the video below:
