The XQuartz project is an open-source effort to develop a version of the X.Org X Window System that runs on macOS. Together with supporting libraries and applications, it forms the X11.app that Apple shipped with OS X versions 10.5 through 10.7.
There is an important discussion taking place on the X11 users list regarding the support of indirect GLX (iGLX) in XQuartz. Indirect GLX is an extension offered by X11 that enables the transmission of OpenGL commands from an X11 client on a remote machine to an X11 server on your desktop over the network. CONS is a package with a graphical interface that performs Consonance Analysis. This procedure is an approach useful for evaluating the consistency of the measurements performed by a panel of people involved in sensory evaluation.
Quick Download
2.) Download the XQuartz installer for your version of Mac OS X. 3.) Unpack and run the XQuartz installer as a user with Admin privileges. If needed, additional information about installing XQuartz can be found through the XQuartz project web site. 4.) Log out and then log back (or reboot) in to complete the XQuartz product installation. Setup - XQuartz. XQuartz is a shell that runs on OS X enabling you to develop on a Macintosh computer in a similar way to how you would develop on a Linux computer. This is accomplished by providing a user interface (a 'shell') build on the same X Window System that Linux is built on. I do notice that an 'active' dot appears under the XQuartz dock icon for a second and then disappears. But after this happens my terminal still just hangs at xclock as though it is running. If I try to ssh -X remote into a remote machine my terminal is locked out. I cannot keyboard interrupt.

Important Info for 10.5 Users
OS X Software Updates have included some of the work done by the XQuartz project, but for various reasons, Apple cannot ship the latest and greatest version offered by the XQuartz site. Since the XQuartz X11 package clobbers Apple's X11.app, their software update will clobber the XQuartz X11 package. Because of this, you may experience conflicts after doing a Software Update from Apple. Please re-install the latest XQuartz X11 release for Leopard after installing a system software update to OS X 10.5.x Leopard.

Important Note :
mccPILOTLOG – Version 4.0 is built on 32-bit technology. It cannot run on macOS Catalina (or above) !
As from the release of Catalina, Apple decided to block all 32-bit apps. In case you upgrade your Mac to Catalina (or above), mccPILOTLOG will stop working! We cannot be held responsible for this, this is a decision by Apple. Windows is also a 64-bit operating system, but continues to support 32-bit apps for a much longer time.
If your Mac is Catalina or above, you must switch to CrewLounge PILOTLOG. Our new logbook is a 64-bit application.
